To our clients and connections around the world.
You will have heard the horrific news of the recent extremist killings in Christchurch, New Zealand. It has shaken us to the core. We are a strongly anti-gun society that prides itself on racial and religious tolerance - we can't believe an event like this happened here.
And in a highly connected nation of 4.7 million people, it has touched us all - the Mobile team in Christchurch had their children, spouses and friends in lock-down as events unfolded, and members of their local communities have been directly affected.
As some of you prepare to relocate here, these events must be quite disturbing.
I'm not sure what I can say to reassure you.
But I did want to share our Prime Minister's most recent press conference this morning - her comments and promised actions are totally in line with what New Zealanders expect to be done to maintain the type of society we want to continue in live in. She is calling for:
political and community unity
tightening of our (already restrictive) gun laws
a full investigation into how this could have happened in society that abhors extremism
"This is not who we are"
